I'm so grateful for you and this amazing foundation that you've created for us!!! I wasn't being very honest with myself or others about how truly alone I've felt, I now realize I'm not okay and that's okay. I'm learning to be patient and realize that my cancer did happen, it was hard, it did change my life, but everyday is a day I'm here to live my happiest life. -Dani
I have lived on the Cape my entire life, in 2015 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, once treatment ended and I was cancer free I still felt I needed suppport. Unfortunately, there was no support for young women, while there are so many issues we face before, during, and after treatment. I have been a member of Better Together for a year, in that time I have met so many women that have been affected by this horrible disease. For me, Better Together has been endless love and support. I know I am able to reach out to anyone in the group at anytime for any reason. This group has changed my life for the better. -Sarah
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer with a kindergarten son at school and a two year old in my arms at the appointment, I knew that this happens to many young, healthy, women my age. At the time it was hard to see these other ladies. I had just moved to Cape Cod the summer before my diagnosis, we were immersed in renovating our home, and my social circle was just starting out in this new location. Many people were kind and helpful, but I still imagined that there was another like me out there, and how n ice it would be to hang out at a playground and let our kids play while we talked about the challenges of breast cancer. Fast forward to spring 2019, I still hadn't found my tribe. Then during my three year follow up appointment with Dr. Dalton I was perplexed by the stuffed elephants covering the counter, but didn't think much about it. When I learned about Better Together that day I thought, wow I finally found her, Megan. Soon after we did have that day on the playground. Better Together is much better than living this journey alone. -Julie
Better Together helped me in so many small ways that were invaluable when I was undergoing a really difficult cancer surgery. They provided not only for me during the long and difficult recovery but for my family who was in town as caregivers. I am so grateful for them. -Jill
Thank you for everything that you do for this group. Being a member of this organization gives me the emotional support and camaraderie that only fellow survivors and patients understand. You gave me the courage to be open with my diagnosis and challenges. -Michelle
